Who we are

Quality Fruitland has been a staple at 1487 Fall River Avenue in Seekonk, MA, since 1957—but its story begins decades earlier. Founder Abraham Foster immigrated from Russia to the United States in the early 1920s and, like many newcomers, found opportunity in peddling fresh fruits and vegetables. With a horse and wagon, he built a loyal customer base along his route in Fall River.

In 1938, he established Central Fruit Store in Pawtucket, RI, at the bustling corner of Exchange and Broad Streets. Even after retiring, Abraham’s passion for quality produce never wavered. In 1957, he opened Quality Fruitland at its current location, laying the foundation for a family business that has thrived for generations.

Over the years, Quality Fruitland has evolved to better serve its customers. A deli was introduced in the 1970s, followed by a full-service flower department in late 2012. Now a fourth-generation independent business, Quality Fruitland remains committed to offering the freshest produce, fair prices, and exceptional customer service—a tradition that has stood the test of time.
